Duane Flemming, the Senior Pastor of Christian Community Church North, has been in fulltime ministry since 1972. He graduated with his B.S. in education from Winona State College and his M.A. in counseling from Ohio State University. Besides being an ordained minister, he is a licensed professional counselor. Duane and his wife Gloria are the parents of three adult children who are all active in ministry.
In 1979 Duane and Gloria founded Christian Community with a small group of young people. Their vision from the beginning was to develop a church that would reach the nations first by reaching their community, then planting more churches, and sending out more missionaries. Duane is affiliated with the eight other Christian Community Churches and they are supporting thirty one missionaries and ministries.
His passion is to build healthy churches that love Jesus and the people He died to save. He also has a passion to raise up the next generation of Christian leaders.
Phil and Ellen Foell, joined our church in October 2004, they have both been active serving and teaching in their church in Cleveland for the last 15 years.
Phil, our associate pastor, besides being an ordained minister, has a BS in Management and Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University. He worked for 15 years for an international company. His responsibilities included software programming, personnel management, project management, and he led several process-improvement initiatives for his department. Phil’s involvement at his church was varied: he has been an usher, bookkeeper, greeter, missions coordinator, small group leader, section leader, teacher, and elder. As a result, he comes to CCCN with a vocational background rich with administrative, managerial, statistical, computer, personnel, and detail-oriented skills. This comes meshed with a passionate commitment to Jesus Christ and the desire to build the church through worship, fellowship, discipleship, service and missions!
Ellen received a J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University and practiced law for many years before becoming a full-time stay at home mother and home-schooler. Her interests include worship, teaching and missions. She has written and taught Bible studies for many years. Before they were married, Ellen spent two years in Thailand as a teacher.
